Blue Voodoo

Blue Voodoo is a community-circulated Psilocybe cubensis strain in the broader deep-blue-bruising family that also includes Bluey Vuitton and Blue Storm. Where Bluey Vuitton is the family reference point at 17mg/g lab-tested potency (2024 Cultivar Cup winner, classified Advanced in our system), Blue Voodoo sits squarely in the Intermediate tier — dense, dramatically-bruising, high-potency, but a step below PE-family territory. On our shelf that puts it in the 4-bar Intermediate potency band alongside the other high-potency non-PE strains in the Magic Mushrooms lineup.

What makes Blue Voodoo different: The signature trait is aggressive blue bruising — handling produces visible deep-blue streaks within minutes, comparable in intensity to Blue Storm and approaching the Bluey Vuitton reference point. That bruising is a visible indicator of elevated psilocin content, because psilocin (not psilocybin) is what oxidizes on contact with air. Strains with higher psilocin-to-psilocybin ratios bruise more dramatically, and Blue Voodoo produces some of the more pronounced bruising in our Intermediate lineup. Fruits are medium-to-large with dense chocolate-brown caps and proportional stems, with density and dry weight above baseline cubensis. That density factors into potency-per-gram — a 2g Blue Voodoo dose is not the same as 2g of a fluffier strain.

Dosing baseline: Golden Teacher (our reference beginner strain) baseline is 2.5–3.5g for a full experience. Blue Voodoo runs stronger. Treat it like other high-potency Intermediates:

• Microdose: 75–100 mg every 3–4 days — sub-perceptual mood and focus support
• Museum dose: 0.5–1.0g — light social buzz, mild visual softening (Golden Teacher equivalent 0.75–1.5g)
• Full session: 2.0–2.5g — classic full experience (Golden Teacher equivalent 2.5–3.5g)
• Heroic: 3.0–3.5g — reserved for experienced users with a sober sitter present (Golden Teacher equivalent 4–5g)

First-time Blue Voodoo users should drop to 1.5–2.0g on the first session and hold for at least 90 minutes before considering a top-up. The dense bruising signals real potency and it is easy to underestimate, especially if you are used to lighter, fluffier fruits.

Effects profile: Onset lands in 30–45 minutes on an empty stomach, or 60–90 minutes with food. Peak arrives around 90 minutes and holds for 60–90 minutes before beginning to taper. Total session length is 4–5 hours from first alerts to baseline. Open-eye visuals emphasize color enhancement and geometric texture rather than heavy pattern-shifting. Closed-eye visuals are dense and reflective. Body load is moderate — noticeable warmth and mild grounding weight, without the heavy-limb feeling of PE-lineage strains. Headspace is warm and introspective, well-suited to solo sessions, creative work, music listening, or small trusted groups. Comedown is gentle without the sharp fatigue that some fast-onset strains produce.
