About Caps Lock
Caps Lock exists because dosing dried mushrooms is inherently variable — cap-versus-stem potency spread, size variance between fruits, and moisture drift after cure all combine to make eyeballing a dose imprecise. Grinding, homogenizing, and machine-filling into a fixed-weight capsule solves that variance. Every Caps Lock capsule contains a weighed dose of ground P. cubensis powder in a standard gel or veggie shell, dosed to ±5% potency per unit across a batch.

Are Caps Lock capsules third-party tested? Yes. Every batch ships with third-party potency, homogeneity, and microbial test results. Ask staff at pickup for the current lot report — kept on file at the shop for every product on the shelf.
How does Caps Lock compare to whole dried mushrooms? Same active ingredient (psilocybin), same experience curve, more precise dosing. A 200mg Caps Lock capsule delivers the equivalent of 200mg of dried mushroom powder. For a 2g threshold experience, that is 10 capsules of a 200mg product. For microdosing, 1–3 capsules covers the standard 100–300mg range.
What is the shelf life? Sealed bottle in a cool dark place: 12–18 months at 90%+ potency. Do not refrigerate. Do not expose to heat above 190°F.

Why capsules over dried or edibles: Precision dosing is the primary advantage. Each capsule holds an exact 0.25g of whole-fruit psilocybin mushroom flour (not extract, not tincture — full mushroom flour with all the naturally-occurring tryptamines and beta-carbolines). You can build a consistent microdose protocol (0.25 to 0.5g every third day per Stamets stack), a museum-dose social experience (4 to 6 capsules), or a full journey (10 to 14 capsules) with zero variability between doses.
Capsules also skip the earthy mushroom taste some users find unpleasant in dried or chocolate format, they travel well without breaking or melting, they have a longer shelf life than fresh dried whole-fruit, and they portion evenly for splitting protocols across multiple sessions.
Caps Lock dosing baseline: Each capsule equals 0.25g whole-fruit Psilocybe cubensis (or non-cubensis where labeled). Microdose 1 to 2 capsules on an empty stomach every 3 days for the Stamets protocol. Light dose 4 to 6 capsules for a social museum experience with mild visuals and elevated mood. Full experience 10 to 14 capsules for a therapeutic-depth journey with strong visuals and emotional depth. Heroic dose 20+ capsules for advanced users only with a trip sitter present.
Non-cubensis strains (APE, Enigma, Bluey Vuitton) run 50 to 150 percent stronger per gram — halve the capsule count for equivalent effect. Onset 45 to 90 minutes on empty stomach, peak 1 to 3 hours, duration 4 to 6 hours total, gentle comedown lasting 6 to 12 hours after peak. Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight, potency stable 12 to 18 months from manufacture date.
Quality assurance and lab testing: Every batch of Caps Lock is third-party lab tested for potency, homogeneity across capsules, heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury), and microbial contaminants. The ±5 percent potency guarantee is written on every label — if any capsule reads outside the labeled range, the batch is destroyed and re-manufactured. All Caps Lock capsules use vegan cellulose shell material (no gelatin), the mushroom flour is single-origin (never blended across grow rooms unless labeled as Mushroom Blend), and manufacture dates are printed on every bottle for freshness tracking.
Caps Lock vs other capsule brands: The primary difference is potency accuracy. Industry-standard capsules typically post a ±15 to ±20 percent variance; Caps Lock guarantees ±5 percent. This matters most for microdose protocols where a small potency swing changes the whole session. Second: whole-fruit flour vs extract. Some capsule brands ship extract-only or concentrate-only capsules which alter the tryptamine ratio (more psilocin relative to psilocybin) and change the trip curve (faster onset, shorter peak, harsher body load).

Building a microdose protocol: The most common protocol is Stamets stack (named after mycologist Paul Stamets): 0.25g to 0.5g psilocybin, taken every third day. Day 1 dose, days 2 and 3 rest. Some users add Lions Mane (available as functional mushroom supplements) for cognitive synergy. Others use Fadiman protocol: dose every fourth day. Track effects in a journal (mood, focus, energy, sleep quality, side effects) for the first 30 days to dial in your ideal dose.
Common starting point: 1 capsule (0.25g) every three days for two weeks, then adjust up or down based on journal notes. Never dose consecutive days — tolerance builds fast.
