Pumpkin Hillbilly is a variant in the Hillbilly family of Psilocybe cubensis, named for its distinctive deep orange-to-amber cap coloration — noticeably warmer than the standard caramel of its parent line. The specific isolation history and breeder are not publicly documented; the strain circulates community-to-community as a stabilized Hillbilly variant.
Pumpkin Hillbilly fruits are medium-sized with thick, slightly conical caps in a warm orange-amber that deepens toward the umbo. Stems are proportional, white, and bruise blue under handling. The strain inherits the Hillbilly family’s reliable growth profile — fast colonization, consistent flushes, and forgiving fruiting conditions.
The experience is best described as balanced with elevated visuals. Onset is standard (30–45 minutes), peak around 90 minutes, total duration 4–5 hours. Visuals are more vivid than the parent Hillbilly line, the headspace is similar — reflective and conversational — and the body load is moderate. Pumpkin Hillbilly sits one tier above its parent in our system: Intermediate rather than Beginner.
Because of the high potency, Pumpkin Hillbilly is classified Intermediate in our system. For most experienced users, 2.0–2.5g produces a full experience. Microdose protocols use 75–100 mg every 3–4 days, slightly below the standard 100 mg cubensis baseline. First-time users should drop to the lower end of the dose range.
